8.5/10: Flax and shortbread, to me, are a contradiction; when I think of flax in a recipe it’s often to get rid of butter and eggs and make it vegan. This shortbread, conversely, was not short of butter, and that’s definitely what I loved about it. It wasn’t overly sweet; it was just a good shortbread cookie. The flax added an interesting crunch that I didn’t mind but also didn’t impress. Overall, this was a good, buttery cookie.
