Product Review: Naturally Nutty Nut Butters

Posted on August 2, 2009. Filed under: Product Review |

Before I begin this review, let me make a few things clear. 1) These products were all bought with my own money. More specifically, this was my choice of a “splurge” with the my first paycheck. I’ve had no contact with the Naturally Nutty corporation other than ordering. 2) I completely support companies sending free products to bloggers for reviewing. This has been of some contraversy lately but I see nothing wrong with it. 3) I feel as though it is any bloggers obligation, whether they purchased the item or recieved it from the company, to give an honest and objective review. The only injustice is when a blogger gives a positive review to a product they disliked simply because they do not want to upset the company.

Ok, now that that’s out of the way, let’s get to the good stuff. I’ve had time to try(and retry ;-)) Butter Toffee Peanut Butter, Vanilla Almond Butter, and White Chocolate Cherry Almond Butter.

Butter Toffee Peanut Butter: Confession–I don’t remember ever eating butter toffee peanuts, so I really had no expectations on this one. The peanut butter has a rich aroma of caramelized sugar. From the first bite you got the sweet flavor, which balanced the overall butteriness of it. The texture was impressively smooth and melted beautifully on a warm english muffin. This peanut butter pairs perfectly with any subtle flavored base and is quite impressive on oatmeal.

Vanilla Almond Butter: This almond butter, like most, has a thickness and gritiness to it inheritted from the almonds. Right away, there’s a rich aroma in the air. The smooth vanilla flavor neutralizes the palate and enhances the sweetness of the almond butter while dulling the nuttiness. I really enjoyed this almond butter, so much though that I see it more as how a “basic” almond butter should be.

White Chocolate Cherry Almond Butter: Being a Michigan company, their are high expectations for any of Naturally Nutty’s cherry butters. I hadn’t had the combonation of white chocolate and cherry before, so I was curious how it would play out over an almond tone. In certain ways, this was both my favorite and my least favorite. Overall, a certain sweetness really was missing from the almond butter, making the white chocolate and the cherry dull background flavors. Upon reflection(and a few more bites), however, I really enjoyed how the flavor was there and you had to work to grasp the complexity of all three combined. Once this was achieved, it was really a unique experience that I don’t think I could ever recreate in my kitchen no matter how many ingredients I get my hands on.

Overall, this was a great experience and a wise purchase and I can’t wait to order from Naturally Nutty next time there’s a sale or special deal. I would recommend any of the flavors I tried and reviewed, but particularly the buttter toffee peanut butter and vanilla almond butter. That being said, Naturally Nutty offers plenty of other of gourmet flavors which I, and possibly you, would love to try, so check out their website.

Yummy šŸ™‚ I’ll be on the lookout for these! I LOVE flavored nut butters!

looks great! are these in food stores??? im not sure if i have ever seen them (or maybe i have and just passed by them) what are the nutritional stats? same as normal pb and ab?

I’ve never seen them in food stores. I had to order them from You might be able to get them in stores in the Michigan area but I’m pretty sure you live in Florida? so probably not. The Butter Toffee and Vanilla almond have 190 cals per 2 tbsp and the rest of their nutrition looks a lot like regular peanut butter. The white chocolate cherry has no nutritional info but I’m guessing it’s about 180 calories per 2 tbsp and is very similar to the vanilla almond
