7.5/10: Where’s the gluten in oats? There isn’t any, which is why it’s the perfect base for a gluten free cookie. Loaded with cinnamon and dried, these had such a warm and inviting aroma that was hard to ignore. The texture was a bit chewier than I’d have preferred, which is a shock from a wheat-free cookie, but overall I think it spoke “oatmeal” well. I enjoyed a deep, rich buttery flavor, but that had me wondering why this needed sugar as the 3rd-5th ingredient along with the fruit? On top of that, the fruit wasn’t particularly identifiable or enticing. There’s definitely a lot to love about these cookies but I’m not sure I was quite won over, either.
