Southwestern Burger

Southwestern Burger

8/10: This burger has a double kick; firstly, Wildwood kicks the standard veggie burger up a notch by using sprouted soy beans as the base, making the bodies digestion easier. Then they kick their standard burger up a notch with spicy southern spices. I liked the flavor here; there was definitely a kick of cayenne and pepper. Texture-wise, they were a bit soft, but at least they held together which is more than I can say for other veggie burgers I’ve had. That was another noticible difference about these: They really are veggie burgers and don’t try to imitate their meat counterparts. Nutritionally, Wildwood might have had a heavy hand with the canola oil when they fry cooked these. That also might have been why I enjoyed them so much, particularly the skin. For a veggie and not faux meat burger, I’d definitely consider buying these again.
