5-Ingredient Peanut Butter Cookies

5-Ingredient Peanut Butter Cookies

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup all-natural peanut butter
  • 3/4 turbinado sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • Course sea salt(optional)

Preheat your oven to 350 degrees. In a bowl, mix together the egg, peanut butter, sugar, vanilla extract, and baking soda. Add salt now if desired and if the peanut butter was unsalted. Once the dough has formed, roll into 20 balls and place on 2 lined cookie sheets. Press down on with a fork perpendicularly. Optional: Add a touch of coarsely ground sea salt on top of each cookie and press down lightly. Bake for 12-14 minutes or until edges brown.

5-Ingredient Peanut Butter Cookie With Salt

This is one of the easiest and tastiest recipes out there. The recipe is so old that I used to imagine it was the one Martha Washington used to make peanut butter cookies until I was reminded that peanut butter came after her time. Regardless, this recipe is perfect in its flavor and simplicity; it’s also gluten free! You can try it with flavored nut butters to make it more unique, but a runny, oily peanut butter works best. Each cookie has around 100 calories, 8g healthy fats, 1g fiber, 4g protein, and only 7g sugar.

I really still need to veganize these…and I think I can with a “flax egg”

Five ingredient pb cookies? And they look like that? I guess I need to make them!

This is pretty high up on my “need to make asap” list. I think I’ll make it as soon as I restock on PB, right now I’m going through some almond butter and a jar of cashew.

i use same recipe, sort of. 1 cup sugar, 1 cup peanut butter, 1 egg. dash of salt, dash of vanilla. deeeeelish!
